Veterans Day Events
RTKY1 will participate in two Veterans Day events this year. On Saturday, November 5th, we will ride in the Owensboro Veterans Day parade. We will meet at the American Legion first and leave for the parade staging at 12:45 pm. The parade will begin at 2:00 pm.
On Friday, November 11th, we will particpate in the Veterans Day program at South Middle School in Henderson, Kentucky. Breakfast with the students begins at 7:30 and the program begins at 9:00 am. RTKY will have a table in the lobby in order to educate students about the POW/MIA issue. Set-up for the table will be the night before at 6:30 pm. Please contact Stan "Heime" Diekmann with questions.
Hanson Christmas Visit
RTKY1 will be visiting the residents of the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, Kentucky on Saturday, December 10th. Please watch your email for the staging time. There will be no meeting in December so everyone can participate in the visit. If you have any old books, magazines or puzzles, please feel free to bring them to donate them to the activity center.
New Meeting Location
RTKY1 meetings will now take place at the new American Legion Post 9 in Owensboro. The address is 736 Frederica across the street from Brescia University in the old Blue Parrot building. The meetings are still on the second Saturday of the month. The board meeting begins at 2:00 pm, and the general membership meeting begins at 3:30 pm.
